Harroway Farm in conjunction with The Tedworth Hunt are holding a Hunting Clinic/Introduction to Hunting Weekend on Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th October at Harroway Farm, Penton Mewsey
What is it .....
Two days of talks and demonstrations to provide an insight into the world of hunting, how hounds work, and the different roles within the hunt, plus practical experience and riding instruction, including the opportunity to ride to hounds and jump cross country.
Who is it for.....
Everyone! Suitable for both experienced hunt riders as well as those who are less experienced who would like to brush up on their skills. Also, an invaluable opportunity for those who have never hunted, but would like to find out what is involved.
Where .....
Harroway Stud, Penton Mewsey is just outside Andover, Hampshire. The home of Lucinda Sims, Harroway provides the ideal base for the weekend, with an indoor school and all weather outdoor arena, as well as access to an intricate network of bridleways and rideable country. In addition it boasts a huge selection of cross country jumps.
Your instructor .....
Harroway Farm is the home of Lucinda Sims. Lucinda is one of the foremost Equestriennes of her generation. She has competed in over 60 three day events, having also been a member of the outstanding British 3 Day Event Team of the 80's. She has ridden and competed Side-Saddle with the highest success, and is considered the foremost instructor on the style. Having first judged at the Horse of the Year Show in 1988, she has gone onto to judge all over the world. Currently Lucinda is a Chief Evaluator for the BEF, a British Eventing Accredited Trainer, a Grade A Side Saddle Instructor and an FEI Steward, as well as being the Chief Instructor of the RA Pony Club. She also has one of the most successful coloured pony Stallions at stud, from whom she has bred with International success.
To top all this, she is the most fantastic teacher who gets the absolute best out of you and your horse, and her lower leg teaching is VITAL for anyone very keen to stay secure and attached to their horse at all times, and over all types of fences!
